BASF Safety Scouts Captain

Safety Scouts Captain is an extension of the existing Safety Scouts brand that I helped create with the BASF communications team. The BASF Safety Scouts program aims to help engage young children in a fun and interactive way by inviting them to take on the important role of Safety Scout and act as safety ambassadors on their family’s farm. The Safety Scouts Captain extension creates a new experience for children who did the original program or for children who are a little older than the original targeted demographic. This new kit includes revised versions of the certificate, pledge and name tag for the child’s safety vest. The worksheets in this kit are more engaging than the colouring sheets in the original version since this kit is targeting children to pre-teens. In addition to these, I pitched the creation of a reflective safe spot sign to be included that will be put up on family farms. The Safety Scout Captain on the farm (an older sibling or child) is in charge of making this the spot where they take themselves, siblings and/or friends when parents are working on farm equipment. This also gives parents the ability to choose the best location for this spot. This is an addition that will help parents know where their children are while operating large equipment. It also teaches children safe zones on the farm and responsibility.
